Here are some Secrets to a diabetic’s “dining out” —from Your Professional entertainers—the Sales People.

The Situation
He/she is at a Restaurant gain, it’s Thursday; and you’re in Cleveland. How do these Professional Entertainers control their diabetes when they eat out 3 or 4 nights a week? Is there a natural diabetic diet that they can find hidden in the menu?

First, the Secret—I will tell you right now.
The Waiter wants you to take over control of the evening. Till him, “Forget about it.” God knows…you know food! Manage the dining experience and have it your way. People will see you as the leader, and they will have no clue that you and they are eating a health diabetic meal.

So, Mr. Professional waiter, “Listen up.”
Talk with the Waiter. He’ll be your best friend through the evening. Let him know that you will be planning the evening. Your role is to manage the process. Don’t let him rush the ordering or the courses. This way you will:
Not order too much
Not eat too much
You will get what you want, healthy foods
Served in the portions your want
It will be prepared the way you want

“The wait staff should know how a dish is made, what the ingredients are, even how big the portion size is. So ask, already. Then have it your way”.

A couple of details—-TIPS

ONLY ORDER ONE COURSE AT A TIME. Tell ‘em what you are doing.

Don’t let them load you down with bread rolls and butter right at the start. Stop the second and third deliveries of bread. Have them bring fresh lettuce and carrots—you know the drill!

Look for ‘baked, steamed, poached, broiled and grilled. This means a lesser amount of fat is used in preparation – lower calories for you.

Ask whether the kitchen can prepare half portions. Of course they do! Many restaurants are more than willing to do so. Some even offer half portions on the menu.

Keep sauces on the side. Dip, don’t drench. Have fat and calorie-laden sauces in their place by using small amounts instead of letting restaurant servers decide your caloric intake

Salsa, not sour cream. Flavoring your food doesn’t mean you have to use butter, bacon, sour cream or other fatty seasonings. Salsa, low in calories and rich in flavor, works well at bringing the best out in food.

Don’t feel obligated to eat the whole serving. Leave as much as you can on your plate.

Split desserts. Don’t deny your sweet tooth. Just cut the dessert in half and you’ll minimize the damage.

Sit back and enjoy the evening. You need to eat only as much as you want, and no more.

Diab-X has been around helping diabetics for over 4 years and is all natural, safe and works to help with both Weight Loss and Managing Blood sugar Levels.

Let’s look at the Diabetic Diet for starters.

“Why do I find that some of the “Top 10 Foods that Diabetics should not eat” are found in many “Diabetic Recipes” —that are published for Diabetics?

Only our most successful diabetic members ask questions like this one.  These walking success stories, who are watching everything, and are well on their way to totally “Defeating Diabetes Naturally” are still exploring for every advantage.

While no answer is simple or short, here are some thoughts on why we are seeing this discrepancy.

The answer is about the intensity of the situation of each Diabetic person and the diet program that is needed for that situation.

To be overly simple, let’s divide a group of type 2 diabetics into Three (3) basic categories, and we talk about each.  And for simplicity, we will limit the discussion to concerns about Blood Sugar and Weight (BMI, Body Mass Index.)

A Severe Diabetic Diet

For People who are deep into displaying more serious symptoms (Let’s say that this group might have very high BS readings, they might have considerable excess pounds they might lose and there is a profound lack of exercise in their program.

  • Clearly the list of foods provided by a dietitian will probably be far more restrictive.

 A Strong Diabetic Diet

For People who’s medical advisors have labeled them as adult onslaught type 2 diabetics and are managing their situation with drugs, exercise and a diabetic diet.  Typically they might have a fair amount of excess weight to lose, and maybe lacking a strong exercise program.

  • Again clearly the list of foods provided by a dietitian will probably be restrictive, but will invite more foods into the mix in limited amounts.

“A Strong Maintenance Diabetic Diet  This might be looked at as a “Life Style Situation”

For People whose medical advisors might have labeled them as Pre-diabetic or people who have been successful at regaining control of their lives and have lowered their readings through a program of Life Style Management including a healthy Diabetic diet, weight management and nutrition.

  • For this group, what they eat is still critical but the list of foods provided by a dietitian could be far more open to a much greater mix, yet still carefully managing the amounts of these additional healthy and nutritious foods.

Here are 10 basic, familiar dieting tips that will help you reach your diabetic weight loss goals. Don’t froget the baxics:

  1. Drink Water. Eight 8-ounce glasses of water will hydrate you and suppress your appetite.
  2. Eat smaller portions. Avoid ‘super-sizing’ and ‘extra large’ portions. Split your meal in half.
  3. Eat 4-5 mini-meals per day. You’ll reduce ‘spikes’ in your system
  4. Big Meal in the Morning. If you need to have 1 big meal in the day, have it for breakfast to give yourself plenty of time to burn it off.
  5. Set Realistic and Healthy Goals. 1-2 pounds of weight loss per week is doctor recommended. Avoid ‘crash’ diets.
  6. Bake, roast or broil your food. Avoid frying foods.
  7. Limit Grocery Store Time. The more time you spend at the supermarket, the more you’ll buy and consume.
  8. Weigh Weekly. Weigh yourself on a weekly basis to avoid temporary fluctuations that can discourage you.
